Uninsured Motorist Coverage

What is Uninsured Motorist Coverage?

When you're injured in a car accident and the other party is at fault and your injuries are greater than your $10,000 PIP benefit, you can sue the other party for your injuries. If they have no Bodily Injury Liability or they don't have enough to cover your injuries, you can collect under your own uninsured motorist coverage that which you can't collect from them. In Florida, Bodily Injury Liability is not required by law. So the odds that someone with no insurance will hit you are pretty high. We recommend you write uninsured motorist equal to your Bodily Injury Liability.
